Dedicated to the work of Margery Allingham

About

Welcome to a corner of the web dedicated to one of the greatest writers from the “Golden Age” of crime and mystery fiction.

Margery Allingham was an author whose private life was more in keeping with the chaotic adventurous escapades of the characters of her book.  Struggling with uncertainty and doubt in the capability of her writing, along with episodes of deep depression, time in a mental institution, electroshock therapy, she still managed to create one of the world’s greatest detective charecters in the persona of the enigmatic Albert Campion.

This website was born out of two purposes, firstly to share with the world my enjoyment of the works of this grand dame of detective fiction, and secondly to help me stay sane as I transitioned from life in rural Warwickshire to being an ex-pat living in the suburbs of Washington D.C.  As one can imagine, over the years updates have been patchy, and technology has done its best to erase these pages, but we keep popping back up.

In the spring of 2009 we moved permanently from our old and dusty hosting solution to a WordPress blog, and so we ask that you excuse the mayhem whilst we re-arrange the furniture and republish many of our older posts.  I fear some items were lost in the move, but given time I’m sure we’ll get everything organised once more.

If you have any questions, please post a comment, or contact me via the Meebo IM widget found at the bottom of these pages.

Most of all, I encourage you to explore the works of Margery Allingham, and enter into a world of mystery, crime, and murder.
